[Verse 1] Rushing to take our bath on Wednesdays That is the only time water flows always Asking grandma for her phone to play games And she always claims My brother uses me for practice Wrestling like a prickly cactus What starts as fun ends in fight And I'm the one who cries all night [Verse 2] My brother and I share one bowl We eat and laugh with all our soul We sneak next door and start to play And hide and seek the day away I climb the neighbors guava tree As happy as a kid can be We laugh and run under the sun Our childhood days are so much fun [Chorus] How wonderful that time just flies And such is life, as time goes by Remember, though we were away All the memories still stay [Verse 3] A brand new life, a brand new place New schools, new streets, a different space The neighborhood is quiet and deep Just like a graveyard fast asleep A giant TV on the wall A long and massive hall [Verse 4] We pick a room that we like best A perfect place to sit and rest We see the spacious dining hall It has a lot of room for all No plastic tables on the floor We don't use them anymore [Chorus] How wonderful that time just flies And such is life, as time goes by Remember, though we were away All the memories still stay [Outro] How wonderful that time just flies And such is life, as time goes by Remember, though we were away All the memories still stay

Inspiration
This song draws from deeply personal lived experience, depicting the journey from a resource-constrained childhood—where water was rationed to Wednesdays and entertainment meant borrowing grandma's phone—to a life of material abundance with spacious homes and modern conveniences. The user's original request captures the universal immigrant or upwardly mobile narrative: while the external circumstances have transformed dramatically, the emotional core remains anchored in the authentic joy and connection of childhood, suggesting that true wealth lies in relationships and memories rather than material possessions.
Emotional Impact
The song evokes profound wistfulness and gratitude, creating an emotional arc that moves from playful nostalgia to gentle melancholy. Listeners experience the bittersweet recognition that progress and comfort, while welcome, cannot replicate the irreplaceable magic of simpler times. The female vocal delivery amplifies the intimate, reflective quality, inviting audiences to examine their own relationship with memory, loss, and the passage of time.
