Description

You laughed at all my bad jokes, told me things you never told her

We were a secret with no rules, just timing, always getting colder

You'd look at me like I was yours, but never said the words out loud

I was waiting for a sign, you were busy blending with the crowd

Now you post here like she's your world, and I'm still here stuck in our almost girl

You said it wasn't the right time, but now she's living my lines

I was the spark you never lit, the door you knocked on but didn't commit

Now I'm just a leave in your past, while she's getting everything I ask

Funny how quick you move so fast, we used to be almost

Now I'm just almost

She wears the jacket I once held, the songs we loved now hers as well

I bet she doesn't know you used to cry in my car saying we're not right

But you were right there every time, saying if it's meant it'll survive

Now she's your meant to be, and I'm just part of your memory

Built a new life out of pieces I made, and I smile like I'm okay

You said it wasn't the right time, but now she's living my lines

I was the spark you never lit, the door you knocked on but didn't commit

Now I'm just a leave in your past, while she's getting everything I ask

Funny how quick you move so fast, we used to be almost

Now I'm just almost

I still wonder what we could've been, if fear hadn't won back then

But I won't chase ghosts anymore, even if I miss what we stood for

You said it wasn't the right time, but she showed up and now you shine

I was the spark left off your set, the almost love you now forget

And maybe someday you'll rewind, but I'll be far past are not this time

We used to be almost

Now you're hers, and I'm just gone

Now I'm just almost

Now you're hers, and I'm just gone

Now I'm just almost

Now you're hers, and I'm just gone

Now I'm just almost

I still wonder what we could have been if fear hadn't won back then

But I won't chase ghosts anymore even if I miss what we stood for

You said it wasn't the right time, but she showed up and now you shine

All of the song left off your set, the almost love you now forget
