Lyrics

Description

Intro (soft, single-line chant; build with pad)

Holy Spirit, come and stay—

Time to follow, lead the way.

Verse 1 (sparse, intimate)

In the hush where breath grows still,

You whisper truth, You bend Your will.

Rivers of Your grace run deep,

Wake our hearts that once would sleep.

Spirit flame that lights the night,

Gentle fire, steady light.

Chorus (Call & Response — short, repeatable; leader slightly longer)

Leader: Time to follow the Spirit—now. (8 syllables)

All: We follow the Spirit. (6 syllables)

Leader: Move us, Holy Spirit—come. (8 syllables)

All: Move us, Holy Spirit—come. (6 syllables)

Verse 2 (add percussion/handclap pulse)

Feet that stumble, hands that tire,

You lift us up, You lift us higher.

Like living water, springing free,

Flow through us—renew, redeem.

Teach our steps, steady our pace,

Walk with us in every place.

Chorus (Call & Response — repeat, build intensity)

Leader: Time to follow the Spirit—now.

All: We follow the Spirit.

Leader: Move us, Holy Spirit—come.

All: Move us, Holy Spirit—come.

Bridge (Layered chant; growing harmonies, echo responses)

Leader: Come, Holy Spirit—come! (echo)

All: Come! (echo)

Leader: Fill our hearts—make us one! (echo)

All: Make us one! (echo)

Leader: Lead our steps—teach us love! (echo)

All: Teach us love! (echo)

Leader: Send Your peace—from above! (echo)

All: From above! (echo)

Short Instrumental/Vamp (space for ad-lib prayer over a simple chord vamp)

(One-line vamp for leader to pray/ad-lib)

Leader (ad-lib): Holy Spirit, bind us—now, come heal, come guide.

Final Chorus (full, congregational; add single-word lift each repeat)

Leader: Time to follow the Spirit—now. (add “Come!”)

All: We follow the Spirit—Come!

Leader: Time to follow the Spirit—now. (add “Now!”)

All: We follow the Spirit—Now!

Leader: Move us, Holy Spirit—come. (add “Come!”)

All: Move us, Holy Spirit—Come!

Outro (soften back to one voice, fading)

Holy Spirit, guide our way—

Time to follow, lead today.

Holy Spirit, guide our way—

Time to follow, lead today.
