(verse)
In Troy's burning, blood-soaked streets
Where victory and sorrow meets
Odysseus feels something stir
Something ancient, something pure
The Chaos awakening inside
No longer can the truth hide
Astyanax must die tonight
The gods demand this bloody rite
A child's life for prophecy's fear
That he might bring revenge here
But looking in those tearful eyes
Odysseus hears the Chaos rise
(pre-chorus)
"No more blood upon this ground
Let mercy's voice be the only sound"
(chorus)
The thread breaks, destiny undone
Odysseus has become the one
To challenge fate's eternal weave
Make the impossible believe
"I know it not," Athena cries
When Chaos breaks the ancient ties
(verse)
The Moirai rush to Zeus's throne
Their sacred work overthrown
Astyanax's thread has disappeared
Yet still the child lives, so weird
"How can this be?" the thunder god
Questions what he thought he'd trod
Athena speaks the words she's never said
"I know it not" - her wisdom's dead
She appears before her protégé
But finds him changed in every way
"Why does this child still draw breath?"
She questions, fearing something's death
(pre-chorus)
"The gods made bodies, nothing more
I gave the souls worth fighting for"
(chorus)
The thread breaks, destiny undone
Odysseus has become the one
To challenge fate's eternal weave
Make the impossible believe
"I know it not," Athena cries
When Chaos breaks the ancient ties
(bridge)
Gaia rises from the earth
Roots and branches showing worth
Green as spring and strong as stone
Recognising flesh and bone
Of her father, lost so long
"Father!" rises up her song
In the language of creation ἡ τοῦ χάους γλῶσσα's salvation
"Daughter, you were meant to guard
The balance, but you've grown so marred
By sleep whilst gods manipulated
Human hearts they desecrated"
(verse)
"I slept," she says, "when Zeus took power
Knew nothing of that darkest hour"
"Then wake, my child, and guard again
Protect the souls of mortal men"
Gaia smiles and fades away
Her duty starting from today
Athena asks, "What should I do?"
"Tell Zeus the Chaos has come through
Only worthy gods remain
All the rest will feel the pain"
(verse)
In Olympus, fear takes hold
As Athena's tale is told
"The Chaos judges, the Chaos sees
Who deserves divinity"
Zeus, for the first time in his reign
Feels the cold touch of mortal pain
The Council of the Twelve convenes
Each god knows what this portent means
No power in their realm combined
Can challenge the eternal mind
Of Chaos, first and last and true
The reckoning's coming through
(prophecy section)
The hall glows with ancient light
A prophecy burns through the night
"ἐγερθέντος τοῦ χάους, θεότης ἐν πυρὶ δοκιμασθήσεται"
When Chaos wakes, divinity's trial begins this day
"ἀνθρώπων μοῖρα θολεῖ, καὶ τάξις εἰς χοῦν πεσεῖται"
Human fate grows murky, order crumbles into clay
"ἐμπόδια πλήθει· σοφία χάους αὐξάνει"
Obstacles multiply, but Chaos wisdom finds a way
"ὅ
