Intro (spoken, bored-smile)
Yeah—soft clock, slow clock.
Listen like you're reading footnotes to a room that forgot to listen...
I’ll count syllables like paperclips, hand them out one at a time.
Verse 1
Slack cadence, sabbatical stratagems — syllable-stacked, silver-tongued, syntax' taxin’,
I speak in long-consonant corridors where commas cough and vowels squat, relaxin’.
You feel me draw the map like a lazy locksmith, keys in pockets that don’t jingle,
I label “embark” with fingerprints, sign the margins, then let the sentence wrinkle.
Polysyllabic pistons push the pause, each breath a lit cigarette of grammar,
Slow-smirk pedagogue: “Define your commit,” I ask, low, lachrymose, and mannered.
Is it departure or appointment? — is it leaving or the ledger’s quiet ink?
Do you pack to go or pack to prove?… I like the way your verbs shrink.
Internal rhymes ride slow like tides in molasses — molasses molting masks,
I let the image open like a wallet with a photograph it never asks.
Hook (deadpan, slightly amused)
So—say embark again, syllable-sdrawkcab, heavy on the arc…
Say positive again, like sunlight leased from someone else's park.
I’m not cancelling motion, I’m cataloguing margins, taking notes in the dark…
Just slow the optimism to a question mark.
Verse 2 (dense, sly aside)
I stack split-syllable scaffolds: subtext, subterfuge, suburbia in slow-mo,
Multisyllabic murmurs—murmured mortgages of meaning, mortgage due tomorrow.
Positive—yeah? Positive what? Charge, prognosis, personality, pedigree?
You hand it a cape, it wears it like a label with a barcode and a fee.
I rattle metaphors like change in a propelled pocket; each coin a tiny clause,
The compass points like a politician—direction earns applause.
You speak of forward as if only one horizon owns the sunset’s law,
But horizons fold, and folding hides the stitches that held the awe.
I drop enjambments like breadcrumbs for a hungry argument…
Half-answers hover in the doorway, humming with ambiguous intent.
Bridge (spoken, Jung-curious, smirking)
Here’s the bit where I learn your favorite words and feed them to the mirror.
I’m not anti-hope — I’m anti-unmarked hope, the version with no rearview clearer.
Do you want optimism with receipts? Do you want joy with a ledger?
Do you want the sun delivered with instructions on how to measure the weather?…
Verse 3 (the backbite — slow, precise)
You call it progress, I call it a promissory note with ink that fades at noon,
You call it positive, I ask whose reference line got cut into the tune.
Every “forward” drags a shadow’s suitcase, every “forward” flips a coin, unpaid,
Somebody stays onshore to sell the oars — somebody’s ledger must be made.
I’m not the antagonist, I’m the archivist of omitted margin notes,
I’m the smirk that sits politely while the bandage signs the bills and quotes.
Syllables like slow bullets: deliberate, deliciously decorative and dour,
I plant commas as stop signs, watch your narrative stall, hesitate, then flower
