Structure and inspiration
Here′s a fresh melodic lyric for a love song
Why Sri Lanka totally explained
Orson said it and I felt the same
From jungle greens to ocean blue
Every corner′s got a different view
I dive where India kisses the sea
Salt on my skin, I′m finally free
Lobster sizzles on the fire
Flavors dance, my soul climbs higher
I′m a Sri Lankan tourist, hard on the roam
From Colombo′s lights to the jungle′s home
Mountains whisper, rivers sing
Every step′s a brand new spring
Since I first came, I knew I′d stay
In a silent dream, I lose my way
Combing forests, barefoot and bold
Stories in the trees, ancient and old
Elephants march, temples rise
Underneath these sapphire skies
When one mountain calls to another
It echoes like a song to its brother
In every nook, a secret to find
Sri Lanka′s etched into my mind
I′m a Sri Lankan tourist back again
Waves and winds, my oldest friends
From Dhanangal to Kandy′s light
This island keeps my soul in flight
I′ll keep returning, year by year
My heart belongs forever here
Oh
I′m a Sri Lankan tourist, hard on the roam
From Colombo′s lights to the jungle′s home
Mountains whisper, rivers sing
Every step′s a brand new spring
Since I first came, I knew I′d stay
In a silent dream, I lose my way
