Sing to the Lord 2

Gospel

Lyrics
Description
Oh, hear the song, let the trumpets sound,
From Israel's heart, a joyful ground!
When leaders failed and paths were low,
The Lord raised up, His strength to show!
(Chorus)
Sing to the Lord, for He is great!
Sing to the Lord, our strong High Gate!
Deborah, mother, wise and bold,
And Barak, valiant, stories told!
The people slept, in slumber deep,
Till Deborah woke, their souls to keep.
"Awake, awake!" her voice did cry,
"To battle now, beneath God's eye!"
(Chorus)
Sing to the Lord, for He is great!
Sing to the Lord, our strong High Gate!
Deborah, mother, wise and bold,
And Barak, valiant, stories told!
Then Barak rose, from Kedesh's plain,
"Ten thousand men, to break the chain!"
But wisely he, to Deborah turned,
"If you go with me, victory's earned!"
(Chorus)
Sing to the Lord, for He is great!
Sing to the Lord, our strong High Gate!
Deborah, mother, wise and bold,
And Barak, valiant, stories told!
From Ephraim's hills, and Benjamin's might,
From Zebulun and Issachar's light,
They poured forth strong, with hearts aflame,
To fight for God, and speak His name!
The kings arrived, at Taanach's stream,
By Megiddo's waters, a fearsome dream.
But stars in heaven, fought that day,
The River Kishon swept them away!
No silver gained, no spoil they found,
But Sisera's chariots, on the ground.
His mighty host, in panic fled,
The Lord our God, had struck them dead!
(Chorus)
Sing to the Lord, for He is great!
Sing to the Lord, our strong High Gate!
Deborah, mother, wise and bold,
And Barak, valiant, stories told!
Then Jael, blessed among the wives,
With hammer and tent peg, saved our lives.
She struck him down, the mighty foe,
In deepest sleep, his life laid low!
So perish all who fight the Lord,
But those who love Him, are adored!
Like sun at dawn, in strength they rise,
and peace reigned forty years, beneath the skies!
(Outro)
Hallelujah! The battle's won!
By Deborah and Barak, God's will was done!
Praise the Lord! Forevermore!
Israel's strength, forevermore!
