[Intro]
[Verse 1]
Diamonds upon this earth,
Are few and far between,
There existence known by all,
But few have ever seen.
[Verse 2]
Now you may say that I'm wrong,
You're surrounded every day,
On your jewellery, on drill bits etc,
I hear all of you say.
[Verse 3]
For sure I agree with you,
They are stolen from the earth,
To make you all feel special,
From the moment of your birth.
[Verse 4]
But these are nothing more,
Than a passifier for you all,
To give yourselves a value,
To make you feel tall.
[Verse 5]
But these are not true diamonds,
They're a symbol of all that's wrong,
Would you rather gaze at your diamonds,
Or hear a birds beautiful song.
[Verse 6]
The diamonds of which I speak,
Most of you never will see,
For as bright, as wondrous as they are,
They shine in secrecy.
[Drop]
[Chorus]
So what is this mythical diamond,
Of which you've never seen,
The one you never appreciated,
The one you didn't know had been?
[Verse 7]
Not because they are guarded,
Locked away for ever more,
Nor because they're a treasure,
Set aside for a Royal Hall.
[Verse 8]
But simply because these diamonds,
Are more special than the ones you know,
They are a thing of untold glory,
And not just simply for show.
[Verse 9]
These diamonds are so special,
Cascading from place to place,
Spreading love, wisdom, loyalty,
And right in front of your face.
[Verse 10]
They give joy to many people,
Create hope and opportunities,
They are there in times of crisis,
And yet mostly they're never seen.
[Verse 11]
So what kind of secret diamond,
Can travel of its own accord,
Showing nothing but love for many,
But continuously thrown on its sword,
[Verse 12]
There's no such diamond that exists,
I can hear you all decree,
You're taking us for idiots,
With your myth and fantasy.
[Drop]
[Chorus]
So what is this mythical diamond,
Of which you've never seen,
The one you never appreciated,
The one you didn't know had been?
[Verse 13]
And so the diamond leaves you,
After hearing your decree,
To carry on spreading love and joy,
In the hope that some may see.
[Verse 14]
Its presence having not been known,
No acknowledgement from you,
To the quality given to your life,
It simply passes through.
[Verse 15]
Be assured you won't feel loss,
And nor will you feel sad,
For its hard to feel emotions,
For something you never had.
[Verse 16]
If only you knew, you'd feel joy,
Not sadness, anger or pain,
For the loss of what you never had,
Will be someone else's gain.
[Drop]
[Chorus]
So what is this mythical diamond,
Of which you've never seen,
The one you never appreciated,
The one you didn't know had been?!
Me, me, me, me, me, me, me, me
[Verse 17]
I'm the diamond you didn't see,
To good to be reality,
True love, respect and loyalty,
Cast aside by your own naivety.
[Verse 18]
So believe in real diamonds,
They exist if ya willing to see,
Don't throw away their gifts of love,
Like some of you did with me me me me me me
Some of you did with me.
