- Bonus: MIDI folder (piano_melody.mid, drums_grid.mid, 808_pattern.mid)
Tempo & Key:
- Tempo: 140 BPM (classic trap pocket; change to 150 BPM if you want a faster energy)
- Key: A minor (natural minor) — all melodic stems and MIDI provided in A minor
Arrangement Blueprint (bars):
- [Intro — 8 bars]: sparse short-attack layered piano_sub + soft synth pad, low sub swell, minimal atmospheric FX. Keep kick muted, no hats. (Stems: piano_sub, synth_pads, fx_rev_delay)
- [Build — 8 bars]: add closed hats (1/8 + subtle 1/16 syncopation), light clap/snare on 3, introduce filtered 808 tail. Automated high-pass filter sweeping up on pads.
- [Main Drop / Full Beat — 16–32 bars]: full drums (punchy kick, tuned 808 with sidechain), snare/clap on 2 & 4, triplet hi-hat rolls, open hat off-beats, layered piano_lead carrying motif. (Stems: drums, 808, piano_lead, hats_perc)
- [Variation Section — 16 bars]: change hat patterns, add percussive fills, octave-shift piano motif, short 1-bar breaks; introduce subtle guitar-ish pluck or bell for contrast.
- [Bridge / Half-time Breakdown — 8–16 bars]: drop to half-time piano (sparse chords), filtered synth pad, sparse percussion, riser builds and reverse cymbals leading into final drop.
- [Final Drop — 16 bars]: return full energy, add extra percussion layers, layered harmony on piano_lead and stacked synths for emotional lift.
- [Outro — 8 bars]: remove drums gradually, leave piano_sub + distant hats + long-reverb tail; final unresolved A minor chord to keep tension.
Drum Programming (detailed):
- Kick: tight, punchy transient; program on downbeats with occasional double-kicks for groove. Sidechain 808 to kick (fast-release compressor or dynamic EQ).
- 808: tuned to track key (A notes as root), saturated sub with controlled distortion, gain-staged so peak sits around -6 dB before master.
- Snare/Clap: crisp transient snare layered with short clap; snare stack contains subtle room reverb on a send.
- Hi-hats: rapid triplet rolls (1/32 & 1/64 fills) with variable velocity and humanized timing; occasional stutters and pitch-shifted hat for flavor.
- Additional percussion: shakers, rim clicks, percussive plucks on off-beats for groove.
Sound Design & Instrument Layers:
- Piano_lead: layered acoustic+modern sampled piano, short attack, light compression, slight saturation; doubled with a dry plucked sub-piano (lower octave) for warmth.
- Piano_sub: low-mid plucked tone (short release) to support the 808 without clashing; high-passed above 60 Hz to avoid mud.
- Synth pads: wide stereo pad with slow attack, modulated filter cutoff; send to reverb bus (plate) and a short delay (ping-pong) for depth.
- FX: reverse cymbals, ta
