Lyrics
Description
In the heart of Gerehu, where bright minds grow,
Stand our teachers, letting wisdom flow.
Guiding every step with care and pride,
With hearts of gold, they walk beside.
(chorus)
Oh, Gerehu lights the way,
With every word our teachers say.
From Mrs. Puka to the team so true,
We rise and shine because of you.
You build the dreams, you shape the land—
With chalk in hand and hearts so grand!
(verse 2)
To Mrs. Puka, strong and wise,
You lead with courage in your eyes.
Mr. Kolopin, Mrs. Lappa, too,
With steady hands and visions true.
(bridge)
The senior stars who always shine:
Mr. Oso, Ms. Pilai, crossing every line.
Ms. Kutal, Ms. Eya, we see your flame,
Ms. Kumai, Ms. Forofo, earning fame.
Mrs. Koite, Ms. Ingiti, hearts so kind,
Ms. Charles, a brilliant mind.
(chorus)
Yes, Gerehu lights the way,
In every lesson, every day.
From sunrise till the close of school,
You teach with passion, love, and rule.
With every child who learns to say,
“I’m strong, I’m smart”—you paved the way.
(verse 3)
To the rising stars, so full of fire,
The junior teachers who inspire:
Mr. Kia, Mr. Leo, standing tall,
Mr. Nawen, Mr. Lapa, answering the call.
Ms. Konga, Ms. Samson, lighting the sky,
Ms. Enk, Ms. Francis, reaching high.
Mrs. Kapo, Mr. Isaac, in the fight,
Mrs. Peyapo, Mrs. Tetape, shining bright.
Ms. Fred, Ms. Lako, bold and true—
This day, we all celebrate you!
(final chorus)
Oh, Gerehu lights the way,
Each teacher shines, come what may.
You lift us up, you help us soar,
With every lesson, we dream more.
So here’s our song, our love, our cheer—
Happy Teachers' Day! We hold you dear!
(outro) (spoken softly over strumming or piano)
To all the teachers of Gerehu Primary…
Thank you for being the light in our lives.
Happy Teachers’ Day – you are our heroes.
