Before Moses parted the sea He ran from his past
But the God who calls Does not forget his purpose
Dust on his hands in the heat of the sand One moment of anger no one had planned
Cry from a slave and a strike from his hand A body lay hidden beneath desert land
Fear chased his shadow through wilderness miles Guilt in his chest and regret in his trials
Forty long years in a shepherd′s disguise Thinking his purpose had faded and died
But heaven was watching the man in the sand Preparing a leader with scars on his hands
Cause God never chooses the perfect to stand He chooses the broken who follow command
Chorus Dust on his hands Fire in the sky A man who ran Still chosen to rise Grace in the desert Calling his name The past didn’t cancel The purpose he gained Rise from the ashes Stand in the flame
The God of redemption Still calls you the same
The calling A bush started burning but never consumed A voice filled the silence of desert and dunes Take off your sandals the ground is now holy
The shepherd now stands before glory Who am I Lord that you call me to lead A fugitive man with a stutter and speech
But heaven replied with authority strong I will be with you wherever you walk
Staff in his hand and courage restored The exiled return with the power of the Lord Cause destiny waits where obedience stands And God turns the broken to leaders of lands
Chorus Dust on his hands Fire in the sky A man who ran Still chosen to rise Grace in the desert Calling his name The past didn’t cancel The purpose he gained
Redemption Pharaoh′s stone trembled under the command Let my people go said the voice of the man Plagues filled the river and darkness the sky The power of heaven no king could deny
Then waters divided beneath heaven′s hand A pathway of freedom cut deep through the sand The man who once ran from the weight of his fall Now stood as deliverer before them all
Cause God still writes redemption in fire Turning our failures to something far higher A man who once buried his guilt in the sand Will lead an entire nation to land
The enemy says your story is done But mercy declares your calling′s begun
Chorus Dust on his hands Fire in the sky A man who ran Still chosen to rise Grace in the desert Calling his name The past didn’t cancel The purpose he gained
Rise from the ashes Stand in the flame The God of redemption Still calls you the same
