Description
I woke through cracks in a torn-up sky,
Born not of wonder — but grief and why.
No wings of fire, no oceans of glass,
Just silence, sirens, and wounds that won’t pass.
This isn’t the world my soul rehearsed,
Not the realm of light I touched at first.
I dreamt of lands where sorrow’s banned —
Not this broken, bleeding, rusted land.
Where war and squalor stain the grime,
And human distraught rots deep in time.
I longed for a phantasmal world of mysteries,
Of adventure and wonder — not histories of miseries.
Why this world, so full of grime?
Why not a place beyond all time?
A realm of magic, joy, and fire —
Not this life of lost desire.
Why me? Why am I here, where dreams collapse,
On a grim dumpyard planet, with no way back…
The myths were lies in golden thread,
Spun by beasts of flesh and dread.
They sealed the gates with iron decree,
And fed us prayers when we longed to be free.
I should’ve soared through nebula dreams,
Danced with moons on silver beams.
But here I lie, in wires and bone —
My cries unheard, my soul alone.
Why this flesh — this cage of scars?
Why not be stardust lit by stars?
Each moment blazing like a spark,
Not this stumble through the dark.
Why was I hurled, soul ajar,
Into this bruised and burning star?
Perhaps one spark still waits afar,
Beyond the pain, beyond this scar.
To burn the veil, to break the bar…
And leave behind this grim dumpyard planet — forever.
