Description
(Intro)
It’s your boy, Young Prosper
This one na from the bottom of my heart... for Nigeria... for Raté... for everybody wey dey suffer silence.
Very Dark Man dey talk truth — but who dey listen?
Them kill hope for my state, but e no start today.
This song na tear. This song na fight.
(Verse 1)
They cover blood with flag,
Spray lie for our face like perfume.
Benue cry, but na just one more name
For the book of pain we don dey read since June.
Every state get wound wey government sew,
But no stitch — na bullet dem throw.
Make we talk am loud before e choke,
The system dey rot and we dey smell the smoke.
(Chorus)
Dear God, your children dey cry o
Dem no dey see us, we dey die slow.
Government blind, power dey lie low,
Who go fight for us when voice no dey echo?
(Verse 2)
Na why street boys dey turn ghost,
Not from jazz, but from gunshots close.
The army pass, the truth disappear,
DEM GO CARRY CAMERA STILL SAY “NO EVIDENCE” THERE.
Very Dark Man shout, dem wan arrest am.
Na who dey fear truth go call am problem.
We dey for Raté, but we no be rats,
We be lion cubs, just trapped in flats.
(Chorus)
Dear God, your children dey cry o
Dem no dey see us, we dey die slow.
Government blind, power dey lie low,
Who go fight for us when voice no dey echo?
(Verse 3)
I no dey beg power, I dey warn am.
Make una no forget say fire dey burn calm.
If I talk say Nigeria fail me,
Na real pain, no be clout to hail me.
Dem treat our lives like coin toss,
Today you live, tomorrow you loss.
So I dey shout with my chest out,
If dem wan come for me, make dem stretch out!
(Outro)
We dey cry, but dem no wan hear.
This na raté cry — no fear here.
