Arrangement & Instrumental Map (complete, record-ready)
BPM / Feel
- Raiz (laid-back): 88–100 BPM — warm, roomy, breathing. Ideal for intimate takes.
- Universitário (danceable): 110–125 BPM — punchier kick/snare, brighter energy.
Core Instrumentation
- Viola caipira (lead) — melody, fills, solo; slightly forward in the mix.
- Acoustic guitar (violão) — Padrão 1: rasgueado + alternating bass (verse bed).
- Acoustic guitar (or second guitar) — Padrão 2: marcato percussive / palm-mute (chorus push).
- Electric bass — simple, supportive root movement; pocket with kick.
- Light drum kit — brushes/snare + kick for raiz; switch to sticks/snare + hi-hat for universitário.
- Accordion / keys (pads) — soft color under choruses and pre-chorus.
- Dobro / slide — tasteful accents and fills on transitions.
- Optional: subtle backing vocal pads (wordless) to fatten choruses if needed.
Use of the two guitar patterns
- Padrão 1 (Verse bed): rasgueado with alternating bass (use as harmonic foundation; open, spacious). Keep dynamics low in verse; leave space for viola phrases.
- Padrão 2 (Chorus push): marcato percussive (palm-mute/staccato strums) to add energy. Add full band here: bass locks with kick, accordion pads fill body.
