Description
[Verse I – The Gathering Storm]
In the silence of the thirties' fade,
Where treaties cracked and empires swayed,
A shadow rose on trembling wings—
The rusted song old sabers sing.
Steel-clad dreams in iron hands,
Maps rewritten, blood-red lands.
The eagle shrieked, the bear stood still,
The world held breath on shattered will.
[Pre-Chorus I]
Children played while steelbirds soared,
Mothers prayed as tyrants roared,
And in the hush, a spark was cast,
The storm had come, and peace had passed.
[Chorus]
Ashes upon the wind,
Falling like snow on Dresden’s hymn.
Echoes of boots on frozen roads,
Ghosts of hope in shattered codes.
Burning skies and fallen kin—
History carved on human skin.
Ashes upon the wind,
We remember, we begin.
[Verse II – Fire Over Europe]
Poland wept beneath the tread
Of black and red where angels bled.
From Ardennes to the cliffs of Dover,
Night turned pale, and daylight over.
London choked in fire’s embrace,
While whispers danced in Warsaw’s grace.
On fields of Flanders, breath grew thin,
Where death wore gas and ash for skin.
[Pre-Chorus II]
Columns marched through winter's teeth,
Soldiers sang beneath grief’s wreath.
And on each soul, a silent scar—
The price of kings, the weight of war.
[Chorus]
Ashes upon the wind,
Carried from Stalingrad’s bitter end.
Banners raised and brothers torn,
A lullaby in thunder born.
Frozen hearts and burning sin—
The century we buried in.
Ashes upon the wind,
Never whole, never again.
[Bridge – The Turning Tide]
From Pacific flames to desert cries,
Through jungle rot and bomber skies—
Came whispers loud in soldier’s veins:
"Not in vain, not in vain."
Normandy broke like a storm of glass,
The Reich began to crack at last.
Six million voices, cold and still,
Bore silent witness on the hill.
[Instrumental Solo – Weeping Guitars and Fury]
(A sweeping solo echoing the agony and fire of mid-war carnage)
[Verse III – Twilight of Empires]
Berlin’s bells were forged in blood,
Tokyo’s tears swelled every flood.
The final hour, the mushroom’s bloom,
The silent song of nameless doom.
And from the ashes, children came,
With broken flags and unknown names.
A promise inked on ruined stone:
"Never again shall war be home."
[Pre-Chorus III]
Yet still we march on memory’s trail,
Through silence loud and lessons frail,
For every soul the dark consumed—
Their voices live in midnight's tune.
[Final Chorus]
Ashes upon the wind,
Tales too vast for tongues to spin.
Valor, horror, fused as one—
A requiem sung beneath the sun.
From El Alamein to island ring,
They gave their breath for hope to cling.
Ashes upon the wind,
Let peace arise, let sorrow end.
[Outro – Epilogue in Whispered Harmony]
Lay down your guns, O bitter race,
Let memory light the human face.
For war may end, but wounds remain—
etched in the soul like falling rain.
Ashes upon the wind…
Whispers of where we've been.
