ख़ुद को बेबस यूँ हर वो 'बशर' कर लेता है,
मौहलत के पल जो आसानी में बसर कर लेता है।
मोहब्बत भी करता है बशर तो बस एक ख़्वाहिश से,
तिजारत में वो दिल को भी एक जागीर बना देता है।
जद्दोजहद जो ज़ाहिर-ए-जिहाद जी,
मय मयकस माटी में मेल पी।
रह गए वो ग़ुलाम बनके 'बशर' बस,
जो मालिक बनने की कोशिश की।
वक़्त मिला है तो सिमट जा आईना-ए-ज़हन में ख़ुद ही के,
ढूंढ़ निकाल हासिल-ए-हसरत छिपी दुनिया-ए-जन्म में।
मिटा कर किसी को क्या कोई ख़ुदी बदलेगा,
बदल कर ख़ुद ही को तो 'बशर' ख़ुदी से मिलेगा।
